At Aurea, every bespoke piece is thoughtfully designed and handcrafted by Alex, ensuring no detail is overlooked. From the first conversation through to the final polish, you'll be guided through a highly personal experience where your vision becomes a future heirloom to be treasured for generations.
Our boutique showroom in Herne Bay, Auckland offers a relaxed and private environment where we can explore ideas, gemstones and designs together.
Initial Consultation
Step 1: Dream with me
Every bespoke journey begins with a complimentary design consultation.
This is where we get to know you, your story and what this piece will represent. We love learning about your personal style, how you wear jewellery, and what details are important to you.
Whether you already have a clear vision or only a handful of ideas, we'll guide you through the possibilities. We'll discuss:
- The occasion and meaning behind your piece
- Design inspiration and reference images
- Diamond or gemstone preferences
- Metal options including platinum, yellow gold and rose gold
- Lifestyle considerations
- Budget and timeframe
Our consultations are relaxed, collaborative and completely obligation free.
Hand drawn designs
Step 2: Your vision takes shape
Once we understand your vision, Alex will begin sketching initial design concepts by hand.
These drawings allow us to refine proportions, settings and intricate design details together before moving into production. This collaborative stage ensures every element feels balanced, timeless and uniquely yours.
We'll continue refining the design until you're completely happy.
Gem & Diamond Sourcing
Step 3: When only the best will do
The centre stone is often the heart of the piece.
Once the design direction has been established, we carefully source a curated selection of natural diamonds or coloured gemstones based on your preferred shape, size, colour, quality and budget.
Rather than choosing from a catalogue, you'll be presented with a personalised selection selected specifically for you.
Where possible, you'll have the opportunity to compare gemstones side by side, either in person or virtually if you're located outside Auckland.
We'll explain the unique characteristics of each stone, helping you confidently choose the one that feels right for you.
We specialise in sourcing exceptional natural diamonds, including GIA certified stones, as well as beautiful sapphires, emeralds, rubies and other precious gemstones from trusted suppliers.
Bringing your piece to life
Step 4: The magic begins
Once your design and gemstone have been approved, your jewellery begins its journey from concept to creation.
Every Aurea piece is handcrafted using responsibly sourced precious metals and ethically sourced, conflict-free diamonds and gemstones. Structural integrity is considered just as carefully as beauty, ensuring your jewellery is designed to be worn and loved for a lifetime.
Throughout the creation process, every stage is completed with exceptional attention to detail and craftsmanship.
This is where the magic truly begins.
The Final Reveal
Step 5: The wait is over
After approximately 6 to 8 weeks, your bespoke piece is complete.
Before collection, every detail is carefully inspected to ensure it meets Aurea's exacting standards for craftsmanship, finish and quality.
When you collect your jewellery, you'll receive a beautifully finished piece created exclusively for you, ready to celebrate life's next chapter.
